freakish quiet

this week, nearly everyone who works in my office is out of town. at least i'm guessing that because out of an office of somewhere around 25-30, i think there are about 10 of us here. and by here, i mean has been here over the past 2 days. never all at once. it is freakishly quiet. like, i can hear the hum of my computer and my typing and NOTHING ELSE. has everyone been evacuated because of a bomb threat and they forgot about me? is there a fire? some big, important meeting that i should've known about? wait, i hear voices! laughter even! i'm not alone! and not afraid of bombs any longer.
what a relief.
