happiness is to birthdays as deliciousness is to rita's

ahhh, birthdays. nothing is better than a whole day when you wake up automatically in a good mood and then you get to tell everyone to be nice to you for a day. sure, everyone loves christmas or halloween or even labor day, but no one loves october 13th like i do. well, at least no one that i talk to. i know of some periphery people with my birthday, but as far as me and mine are concerned, it's MY day! so i celebrated my birthday eve by posting most of our pics to shutterfly and facebook while watching sex and the city (i'm on season 6, part 2 so i promise i'll be done soon). the earlier part of the day was less fun, it involved the dentist. the hygenist told me i have to get a night guard (wow, that's about the least sexy thing i can think of!) and the dentist told me i have 2 cavities. yuck. so think of me with pity on november 6th, around 4:30. oooh! i also got 2 early birthday presents. 1) an itunes gift certificate from my honey for all those awful pop songs that i refuse to buy the album of and 2) a down-alternative comforter from my in-laws! yay to warmth and music.
oh, and good news. everything is cleared up from my little bro's adventure last weekend. so no worries about erik.
tonight there is some sort of big surprise planned for me since we couldn't do the corn maze (which i'm still totally bummed about). it involves dinner and then something where i don't wear jeans. i'll clue y'all in as soon as i find out myself....
