i dropped off 2 prescriptions with giant eagle last thursday. 45 minute wait, i'm told. so i leave and come back later. here's what happened.
i wait in line to pick up my prescriptions. approximately 5 minutes or so. just enough to get annoyed. plus, i'm desperately sick and coughing all over the people in front of me. need to lie down immediately. i get to the front of the line and the girl brings me 1 bag. i ask her about the other one and she looks at my prescription and says she doesn't know why they didn't fill it. she'll go ask. so she does. the pharmacist is all snotty with her and tells her that the other medicine is over the counter and i'll have to get it myself. well, gee. if i had known that, i would've had it in hand to avoid another line wait. but fine. i need to grab a frozen pizza or something anyways.
go to where the mucinex d is kept. you know what's there?? a card. a card that says i have to pick up this medicine behind the pharmacy counter. are you kidding? you just sent me away.
get BACK in line at the pharmacy. wait. give over my little card. the lady goes to grab it and says over her shoulder, "i need to see your license". umm, ok. i guess you have to be 18 to buy psuedophedrine? whatever. so i show it to her. she takes it out of my hand and proceeds to write down my name, address, license number, and any other available personal information on here. so i'm totally flabbergasted and i ask her what she's going to do with that. she tells me nothing, as long as i'm not buying too much psuedophedrine.
ok, back up a minute. mucinex d contains 600 mg of guifinesin and 60 mg of psuedophedrine. and it costs $11. who is buying mucinex d to pull out that tiny bit and make meth out of it??? NO ONE. that's the stupidest thing i've ever heard. and where's all my personal info now? sitting in some notebook. what do they do with that?
and don't give me the "if you aren't doing anything wrong, you have nothing to be worried about". i'm worried. or at least i would be if my license didn't list my name as freya jansen and my address as stanton ave.
take that, giant eagle! let's see you find me and my meth lab now!
